JV Giveaways

Why You Should Consider Joint Venture Marketing to Grow Your List.

If you approach the world of internet marketing in the right way it can prove to
be very profitable for you. Remember the reason why you decided to join this
world? To make money by selling your product to your list! If you are like some
of the well known “gurus” and have a list of thousands and you are promoting
articles that people want to purchase, no problem. However, what happens when
you are a “Newby” and you have no list? How do you go about building your list.

A short term answer will be to subscribe to a program such as “List Joe”. In
fact my first list members came from emailing their members. There are a lot of
viral programs such as List Joe around. The biggest drawback that they have is
that unless you upgrade your free membership to a paid status the number of
people that you mail and the frequency that you can mail them is very limited.

A more proactive approach will be to take part in a Joint Venture promotion.
These have become a major tool in targeting the right people in a niche that
will result in more readership and sales.

So what exactly is a Joint Venture? Essentially it is when a minimum of two
internet marketers work together in order to benefit one another. This can be
achieved in a number of ways but for the purpose of this article it is when
people contribute to a Joint Venture Give-away event.

With this type of promotion products with a real value are given away for free
by the contributors to the event and the members have access to loads of
valuable content to download for free. Also they can promote the event. The
outcome is the same for all participants, namely a means of building your list
and increasing the amount of traffic to your web site or blog.

If you want to access some of the thousands of free gifts that are available to you free of charge, examine the different giveaways listed and select the products you want to download.

Review of Turbulence Training

Review of Turbulence Training

As well as helping newcomers to the world of Internet Marketing I love keeping fit and I visit the gym five times per week. I have never been in to the world of lifting heavy weights, primarily in the past I have been a long distance runner.

When I decided that my running days were over I looked for a training program to use in the gymnasium. I can honestly state that Turbulence Training by Craig Ballantyne met my requirements completely.

Craig Ballantyne is a Canadian who developed the concept of Turbulence Training whilst working on a post graduate degree. The biggest benefit on using this system is that you don’t have to spend hours in the gym. You can be done and dusted in about 45 minutes flat

The basis of Turbulence Training is the idea of working with pairs of super- sets. A super- set comprises of two sets of exercises that work different muscle groups, e.g. exercise 1 could be dumb dell split squats which work your glutes, thighs and calf muscles. The other exercise could be a dumb bell incline press which works your pectorals, triceps, biceps, trapezius and latissimus dorsi.

The way Turbulence Training operates is to thoroughly warm up and then perform the exercises in super-set one (normally 8 repetitions per exercise) without any rest between the two. When completed rest for 30 seconds and then perform the exercises in super-set two without any rest, rest for 30 seconds and then do super-set three.

When completed rest for two minutes and then repeat two more times. The benefits for this type of exercise regime are many but the main ones include as well a lifting weights it also provides an excellent aerobic work out. The post exercise benefits include keeping your metabolic rate at a higher level for several hours. Normally this part of the work out can be done in 25 minutes.

The second part of the work out is Interval Training on any piece of aerobic exercise equipment. I tend to use either a stationary bike or a spinning bike. Having warmed up for about 5 minutes the interval part of the routine normally varies from 20 seconds to 40 seconds with a high level of resistance followed by either 1 minute 40 seconds or 1 minute 20 seconds of recovery. Normally you do 6 intervals followed a three minute warm down.

This routine is done on three alternate days in the week and on the in between days you just do the intervals.

The benefits of this type of work out include loss of fat and replacing it with muscle, smaller waist,a god level of aerobic fitness, increased self confidence. Most importantly, because it is not geared to “Pumping Iron” it is suitable for men and women.

The Money IS In The List

THE MONEY IS IN THE LIST!

Everyone who is involved in Internet Marketing will tell you that the money is
in the list. If you don't have a list then you have no one to sell to. You have
no one to sell to and you will start to resemble one of those poor little church
mice!!

The first question that I asked when I started Internet marketing was "how do I
build a list?"

The most simple way is to subscribe to a mailing list provider. Some of these
offer a free service. Invariably there will be restrictions on the number of
messages you can send, with an option to upgrade to a full membership. Other
providers will only provide a paid for service. Possibly the biggest problem
that will occur with this method of promotion is finding out that your mailing
for product "A" goes out at the same time that my mailing for product "A" goes
out with the same list provider.

Having decided that you will take your first steps on building your list, the
next item to be considered is what will you be offering in exchange for
someone's e-mail address. A lot of analysis has been done and it is generally
agreed that on average it takes 8 to 10 contacts before someone will buy a
product off the internet. Rather than offering something up for sale, why don't
you offer a valuable free gift. For example, if you are in the "Health &
Fitness" market place offer a product that could have a tie in to current
interest, such as a free report which could be called "How to Obtain The Body
You Crave For in 6 weeks" (After all summer is rapidly approaching!)

The important thing is that the title of what you are offering MUST DEMAND
ATTENTION. As well as the title stopping people in their tracks, what you are
offering must deliver the goods. Remember you are developing a list of people
who will grow to trust you implicitly if you deliver high quality content every
time you offer them something, be it free or chargeable.

Other areas where you can start to establish contacts is to look at and comment
on forums and and discussion boards. A quick word of warning though before you
start. Spend some time studying the environment, read through some of the posts
and establish what is allowed. For example the forum may not want offers of free
products being made. All decent forums have an FAQ section. Read through that to
establish other areas that may be prohibited.

Article marketing is an area where you can establish your reputation as an
expert. Again the secret is to provide high quality content that will be useful
to those people who are looking for the solution to a problem, such as "How do I
build my list?"

We are now living in the age of social networking with products such as
"Facebook", "Twitter","My Space" etc. These provide a wonderful opportunity to
promote the product you are either giving away or selling to the people who are
linked through to you, (Followers, Friends etc.) A more detailed explanation on
how to utilize these programs is beyond the scope of this article.
If you want to get as many subscribers in the shortest time possible you need to
adopt a viral marketing strategy. When I was involved in the financial services
industry when we had provided the client with a superb service we asked him or
her for six referrals. This is essentially what viral marketing is about.

Getting your client to pass on details of your product to their friends. A
simple way to do this is to ask the client when he fills in the opt in form to
provide you with names and emails of three to six of his friends. It is
imperative that you make it clear to them that providing this information is
completely voluntary.

Opt in form! Are you wondering what this has to do with building your list?
Before you can send anything to a client they have to confirm that they actually
want that information. So whatever method you use to put your message in front
of a customer, be it a mailing list provider, forum etc. they have to submit
their name and email address to you, then they have to confirm that they
requested the information before it is sent. This is called double opt in and is
required as a result of the Can-Spam act which was introduced to restrict
spamming. You will need an auto responder service to build up your mailing list
and they all operate in this way.

Market Research – Part 3

More cool FREE research tools!

In the last post we dealt with Clickbank which deals with electronic products. In this post we are going to deal with E-Bay. Over 40 percent of ALL internet transactions take pace on E-Bay and their free search tool E-Bay Pulse will help you gather useful market research information for physical products. As Google states E-Bay Pulse provides you with “trends, hot picks, cool stuff and popular searches on E-Bay.” E-Bay pulse provides you with a snapshot of the E-Bay marketplace and provides information on the top 10 popular searches, popular stores, popular products and more.
The information is based on actual searches performed by users of e-bay looking for actual products. Thus it provides you with actual search phrases that have been used.
The place to start with E-Bay Pulse is to select a potential market place using the category drop down. If you select a drop down, such as sporting goods the system will display the top 10 searches in this category, e.g. golf, golf clubs etc. If you then select the drop down menu again, this will provide you with further selections such as golf bags, golf carts and trolleys. If we then chose electric golf trolley this will then give us the products in this category. Remember these searches will be actual search phrases used by users of E-Bay.
Using Google and Google Adwords Keyword Tool, as discussed previously, we can then determine how competitive and potentially profitable this market will be. If you want to find out how many people are optimizing their pages to rank for a keyword phrase use the a Google search operator “intitle:” before the search phrase. Thus if I wanted to find out this information for a Motocaddy electric golf trolley I would enter intitle:”Motocaddy  electric golf trolley”. This would reveal to me that there are 5760 pages with  Motocaddy  electric golf trolley in their title.
Remember that the title tag is one of the most important factors for ranking on Google. With 5760 pages with Motocaddy  electric golf trolley in the title, this would indicate that this would be a good term to go after. When you are looking at title tags look for 10000 pages or less.
Another source for free software to help you with your market research is Yahoo. When you type in a search phrase you are looking at Yahoo lists for you a whole host of long tail keywords. Say you were looking at promoting Maclaren strollers. If you enter the search phrase “maclaren xlr techno” the system will display for you a whole range of long tail keywords such as “Maclaren techno xlr travel system”,Maclaren techno xlr 2009” etc.
Just remember that there are lots of free tools to help you with your market research available on the internet. Use these first and only if you cannot find what you are looking for then consider purchasing something.

Market Research – Part 2

Use the Free research tools available to you.

Obviously when you decide to get in to the realms of making money on line you need to decide what sort of products you are going to market. Will you be promoting electronic products such as e-books and videos? Or will you decide to market a real product such as a baby buggy?

This post is concerned about the free tools that are available on the Internet which can provide you with really valuable information in deciding what products you will be promoting. The cheapest way to promote products on the Internet is to become and affiliate marketer, where you promote a particular product and when you are successful you receive a commission.

Today we will look at the free tools which are available for electronic affiliates. The place to examine the electronic market place is ClickBank. Within ClickBank there are all sorts of useful tools to help you decide what products are available and to determine if they are profitable or not. The first place to start is to log on to ClickBank, (www.clickbank.com). Once you are logged on look for “Marketplace”. This is on the top line and is between “Sign up and Order help”

Once you have logged on to ClickBank all of the categories are displayed down the left hand side of your screen. Once you have selected a category the products are displayed by popularity, from the most popular to the least popular. The day I wrote this post, the most popular product in Health & Fitness was “Truth about Abs” by Mike Geary. It had a gravity of 623.91. The 8th most popular product was “The Vertical Jump Training System” with a gravity of 89.26. It is important that you do not get hung up on gravity. A high gravity indicates that there are a lot of affiliates selling that product. Remember it is not the same as popularity and it tends to reflect more recent affiliate sales. The one thing that gravity does is indicate what products are selling well.

You will notice that in the stats section of the screen there are figures in green. These tell you what the you will make per sale (Total $/sale) the percentage of the price you will receive (Av % of sale). The percentage referred (% /refd.) tell you what percentage comes from affiliates.

When you are looking for a product to promote a god indication is to look for a gravity of between 40 and 60. Obviously when you are looking for a product to promote the one thing that I am interested in is dollars earned per sale. Look at “Health & Fitness” and select “dollars earned per sale” and see how the list changes. Also note the gravity displayed.

The other thing for you to look at is “future dollars. This will tell you what products offer referring commissions which are important if you want to set up an income stream with a passive monthly income.

Another very useful tool which is part of ClickBank is www.cbtopsites.com. This software allows you to browse the different ClickBank products by category and sub-category. The products are always listed by popularity and the site is updated on a daily basis. If you select “popular” you can be certain that the top 100 products will be in very hot markets. It is well worth looking at this site to investigate potential markets.

The last ClickBank site to look at is www.cbengine.com. If you’re just starting out with affiliate marketing, or you’re a seasoned pro, CBEngine is a great tool to have at your disposal. Get in to the software and have a play. You will be amazed at what you come up with.

So now you have decided what product you are going to click through ClickBank you need to find out what the competition is and how much they are paying for their pay per click. The final free gem to look at is Spyfu at www.spyfu.com. Spyfu will let you quickly determine the cost per click and the number of advertisers based on a keyword. Going back to the Health & Fitness theme if we go into Spyfu and enter the keyword “burn more calories” we are told that the cost per click ranges from $0.55 to $1.65, there are two advertisers and we can see their ads.

Good luck with your free search tools. Post a comment to let me know how you got on.

Market research Part 1

To succeed on the Internet the first thing that you need to do is to establish exactly how you are going to make your money, because that is why most people want to get in to Internet marketing.

The choices that are open to you are vast. You can look at affiliate marketing and then you have to decide how you are going to promote the products that you are going to sell. Are they going to be electronic products such as e-books or audio or video down loads, or are they going to be physical products. Are you going to have your own website or blog to promote your products?

Whatever you chose to do, you must ensure that you perform the necessary market research. This is vital as you need to ensure that there is a market of consumers who are desperate for the product that you are going to  sell.

To carry out the adequate market research involves a multi step process. The first thing that you have to do is to explore all the possibilities of your potential markets. Having done that the next thing that you need to do is to investigate whether the market you are looking at is truly profitable. The third thing that you need to do is to investigate how many people are searching in this market. After all if you come up with a potential market and only 15 people search for it in a month, its not really worth you pursuing this. If you do find a market that looks as if it will meet your needs, you then have to analyse your competition. When you have done all this you then look for a product to sell.

A lot of “gurus” will advise to go for a small niche market place where there is not a lot of competition. On the other hand I prefer going for a competitive market place where you can sell what is already selling. Competition is GOOD!! As Bryan Kumar states:

“…go where existing groups of TARGETED subscribers are.”

Everybody who is earning large sums of money from the Internet follow the same basic formula. They do the market research to find a demand. They then either find a product to satisfy that demand or develop one. Look at Twitter. How many products are now available to automate various sections of Twitter. Finally they then drive traffic to their offer.

One of the best sources of finding whether a market has enough people searching on it is to use something called discovery keywords. Take a topic such as dog training. Discovery keywords regarding this topic would include “how do I.. How to…How to get rid of..How do you..How to stop..How to fix..How to remove.etc.”

Google provide a very useful tool called the “Google Keyword Tool”. Type that in to the Google search box and when the selections are available choose the Google Adwords choice, (normally the first one). Type your discovery keyword e.g. how do I into the search box, UNCLICK the use synonyms box, enter the captcha phrase and Google will list all the searches for how do I. The little boxes headed “Advertiser Competition” shows the number of advertisers bidding on each keyword relative to all keywords across Google.

If you take a topic such as dog training and enter the discovery keyword “How do I train a dog..” not only will Google display the main phrases  but it will also list additional keywords sorted by relevance, such as “How do I train a puppy?” “How to train your dog”.

Having decided using the keyword tool which market place you want to tackle enter a relevant search phrase in to Google such as “Dog obedience classes” Google will display not only the relevant searches but also the tops adverts for this category. Look for at least 5 adverts  for this category. If there are 5 or in excess of 5 adverts for this category this is usually a good indication that this is a good market to go for.

First Blog – We’re Up and Running

First Blog!!

Hi and welcome to the first posting on InternetNewbyHelp.com. This Blog is very much a work in progress (as you can see) and as time progresses I hope that you will find the growing content to be informative and useful.

The purpose behind the Blog is to try to let people benefit from my own experiences that have literally cost me a lot of money for initially very little or no reward. Like most people I played on the internet and again like a lot of people I thought “well if X can make all this money then there is no way I can’t as well!” How wrong I was. I have been in business all my life and unlike my early days on the internet I was very succesful. The reason why I was succesful was simple. I knew what my market was and I had a business plan. With the internet I did not have a business plan, why should I, every one was telling me how easy it was to succeed and because it was so easy I was bound to find a product people would love to buy.

What this site is going to do is to provide you with a lot of advice, guidance and tips that hopefully will help you to get your on line business up and running and making a profit sooner rather than later. For those of you that download the free e-book we will also be providing a weekly newsletter which is free of charge. The idea is to also get interviews with some of the acknowledged leaders in their respective niche on marketing on the internet.

As I mentioned earlier when I started looking at selling on the internet I rushed at it like a rampant bull in a china shop. To avoid you making the same mistake as I did the first thing that you need to do is to draw up your business plan. The sort of things you need to consider in your plan should include the following:

  • What product are you going to promote?
  • Is it a physical or and electronic product?
  • How are you going to promote it?
  • Affiliate
  • Commission Junction
  • E-Bay/Amazon
  • Drop Shipper
  • Blog or website
  • Have you done your market research?
  • Do you have a budget?
  • If so how much are you prepared tp spend in total or per month?

Lay out what you want to do by using a mind map. This can be created on a piece of paper or on your computer.

As part of your plan it is important that you set yourself long, medium and short term goals. If you say “I want to be earning $25,0000 per month/year” this is a wish. If on the other hand you state that “in 12 months time I want to be earning $25,000 per month/year and to do this I have to achieve the following medium term goals, and to achieve each of these I have to achieve these short term goals” then you have set yourself specific and measurable targets which have to be achieved if you are going to succeed. Two points for you to remember :

  1. Goals are not fixed, they are flexible. If something is not working then you can change it.
  2. Failing to Plan is planning to fail.
